- Recycling of cardboard boxes
- Retrofitting of all the hotel to LED lights – front and back of the house
- Installed high efficiency shower heads and toilet tanks
- Partnership with ComEd each year on electricity savings program
- Hydration stations in fitness center and 1600 club
- Bulk/refillable bath amenities in all rooms
- Collaborate with Clean the World to recycle amenities and enable group guests to make a positive environmental impact during their meetings
- Participate in the Chicago 250 Program
- Partnered with Elawa Farm Foundation and Golden Gills Mushrooms
- Purchase of locally grown produce
- Installed our own beehives on the rooftop – The Blackstone Buzz
