World Central Kitchen Fundraiser

From Friday, November 1, 2024 to Saturday, November 30, 2024 November 1, 2024 November 30, 2024 The Blackstone

In light of the devastating flooding currently affecting Spain, Mercat a la Planxa is taking action to help those in need. For every ‘Datiles’ appetizer ordered throughout the month of November, we are donating $1 to World Central Kitchen (WCK)—an organization founded by Jose Andreas that is on the front lines providing nourishing meals to those affected by natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

WCK’s Relief Team is in Spain responding to communities impacted by severe flooding along the Mediterranean coast. More than a month's worth of rain fell in a day, flooding roads and homes, breaching rivers, and destroying crops along the Mediterranean coast. Spain’s meteorological agency said one station recorded the heaviest rainfall in a 24-hour period in Valencia since 1996. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Chef Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively.

The Blackstone Hotel has pledged to match the total donation at the end of the month, maximizing our collective contribution.

In addition to dining with us, we invite you to make a direct donation to World Central Kitchen to further assist their life-saving efforts. To make a donation or to learn more, please visit: https://donate.wck.org/campaign/637262/donate
